Aikido & Tai Chi Classes at Open Sky Martial Arts

Our family-friendly martial arts school teaches Aikido and Tai Chi classes. We have Aikido classes for kids ages 5 and up and daily Adult Aikido lessons for active adults. Open Sky has beginning and intermediate Tai Chi classes for young adults through seniors.

Practicing and exploring basic principles of Aikido and Tai Chi movement are profound and deeply developmental. Open Sky promotes the development of the individual through whole body learning. 

Location We are in the Triangle of North Carolina, conveniently located and an easy drive from Durham, Chapel Hill, Mebane, and Efland just off the main street of historic Hillsborough, NC. We are only minutes from exits on I-85 and I-40.❉

TAI CHI BASICS, Move Better!    Beginner series start Wednesdays, June 5-August 21, 2013.  Limited enrollment. Accepting $25 deposits to hold your place now. Gift certificates available.

Ongoing Tai Chi classes:

    Laojia Yi Lu, Old frame long form. Thursdays 5:45 -6:45 p.m. Intermediate group. Learn traditional foundation Chen form.

     Basic Tai Chi with Core Building, Saturdays 12-1 . Seniors welcome. Regain and improve posture, strength, coordination. Private lessons available.

2013 Kids Aikido  Accepting deposits now for Fall 2013 semester . Supportive, cooperative learning environment.   Children receive personal attention.❉

Kids Helping Kids: Our teen age Aikido students help younger children learn Aikido in our cooperative classes. We believe in a family style structure of learning. Teens who have “grown up” in our kids program transition to adult classes with their choice of  combining kids and adults classe .  ❉

Sensei Steven Kaufmann, chief instructor, is a 6th degree Aikido black belt.We are official members of the United States Aikido Federation. We  hold  two or more  Aikido seminars at Open Sky with advanced USAF accredited instructors.

We  teach Chen Tai Chi and are  affiliated with Master Wang Hai Jun. Wang Hai Jun will teach two seminars at Open Sky  in February and November, 2013. Watch Tai Chi applications video with Wang Hai Jun. ❉
