Aikido & Tai Chi Classes

Aikido and Tai Chi at Open Sky in Hillsborough, N.C.

Our family-friendly martial arts school has Aikido classes for kids ages 5 and up and daily Adult Aikido lessons for active adults. Open Sky has beginning and intermediate Tai Chi classes for young adults through seniors in Hillsborough and Chapel Hill.

We dedicate our school to safely promoting the development of the individual with whole body learning from young children through senior adults.

Location We are in the Triangle of North Carolina, conveniently located and an easy drive from Durham, Chapel Hill, Mebane, and Efland just off the main street of historic Hillsborough, NC. We are only minutes from exits on I-85 and I-40. ❉

Kids Aikido Summer Camp, SECOND WEEK ADDED! June 18-22 (great timing for year round school children) & August 13-17: Fun way to start learning Aikido. Ages 6-14, half day,  9-noon.

Sensei Steven Kaufmann, chief instructor, is a 6th degree Aikido black belt.We are official members of the United States Aikido Federation. We are also affiliated with Wang Hai Jun, a Tai Chi master and sponsor seminars every year.

Kids Helping Kids: Our teen age Aikido students help younger children learn Aikido in our cooperative classes. We believe in a family style structure of learning. We are accepting new students for May and June.

Tai Chi in Hillsborough Beginning Tai Chi in Hilllsborough, Thursdays 5:45 -6:45 p.m. Adults and seniors welcome. We offer private lessons for seniors looking for a physical activity to strengthen them.

Sundays in Chapel Hill: Two great Tai Chi classes, Advanced Chen practice and Beginning Tai Chi. Near Whole Foods and Staples.  ❉
